As a Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) Baby Safety Month Ambassador, Colgate Mattress is committed to helping parents understand safe sleep practices to ensure your baby’s first years are safe, sound and happy. Sponsored by JPMA since 1991, September’s Baby Safety Month aims to educate parents and caregivers on the importance of the safe selection and use of baby and children’s products.

Formed in 1915, the International Sleep Products Association (ISPA) has been committed to supporting the mattress industry through active public policy, public affairs, and education initiatives. It has grown to represent the full bedding industry on a host of commercial, health, safety and environmental issues, and serves to provide a positive image for the sleep products industry.

First Candle has been saving babies’ lives, spearheading research, educating new moms and dads, and bringing hope to grieving families for decades. Started in the early 1960s as the National SIDS Foundation, the organization’s primary focus was to support families who had experienced the death of a baby from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). Th eorganization has broadened its mission thanks in part to an $11 million grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation.

The Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) has been recognized as an organization dedicated to enhancing children’s product safety. JPMA’s extensive history of leadership in juvenile product safety includes the development of a comprehensive Certification Program to help guide parents and caregivers toward purchasing juvenile products that are built with safety in mind.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risks of injury or death associated with the use of the thousands of types of consumer products under the agency’s jurisdiction. The CPSC is committed to protecting consumers and families from products that pose a fire, electrical, chemical, or mechanical hazard. CPSC’s work to ensure the safety of consumer products – such as toys, cribs, power tools, cigarette lighters, and household chemicals – contributed to a decline in the rate of deaths and injuries associated with consumer products over the past 40 years.
